APF 2010

APF 2010 Cannock Chase

I had a last minute opportunity to make a flying visit to the APF show at Cannock Chase on Thursday 23 September and inbetween dodging some seriously heavy showers, I managed to catch up with quite a few of our suppliers and was delighted to bump into some of our customers and friends around the circuit (it's always good to put faces to names and I'm happy to say that all the faces were very pleasant!).

I caught up with the Safe-Eyes goggles guys and checked out the updated goggles, featuring a softer rubber frame that makes them just that bit more comfortable to wear. I also bumped into Markus from Teufelberger who was promoting some of their new innovative climbing products, including a very smart looking CE marked lanyard, which will be available from us later this year. On the Workware stand, amongst the tripod ladders, SIP chainsaw clothing and Quazar road signs, I found David, as enthusiastic as ever, promoting the Haix range of workboots and chainsaw boots.

On the Arbtalk stand, Steve was receiving lots of interest in his new Firewood Suppliers Directory and Jo was doing her usual wonderful job of raising awareness and, hopefully, lots of money for The Childrens Trust. Fletcher Stewart had a great array of products on their stand and were promoting many of their new products as well as the old favourites from StretchAIR and Yale Cordage. The Forestry Journal stand was always knee deep with people, which meant I didn't get a chat with Margaret, but look forward to reading her show review in the next edition. I ran out of time and and was sorry I didn't get round to the Oregon stand to see the new PowerSharp demo or to speak to the Silky Saws team. However, I did manage to squeeze in a lovely cup of tea on the Timberwolf stand (thank you Michelle) and a healthy ham salad sandwich (thanks Steve) before it was time to leave!

A brilliant day out!

The updated goggles are great and no panda eyes anymore when I take em off.
